Zoom University: How We’re Staying Sane

Updated: Feb 12, 2022

It has been almost a year since quarantine started.

After a year of online school and social distancing, our team wanted to share our favorite and most effective ways that we stay sane in such a trying time.

  1. Sticking to a set schedule and daily routine. Especially in the beginning of quarantine, this helped us to remain on track with school work and projects while everything else was changing. Now, our daily routines help to break up time during what could otherwise be a monotonous period of online activities.

  2. Setting up time away from work, our desks, and our computers. With everything now running on Zoom calls, we have found that it’s easy to just sit at our desks (or in our beds) jumping from our Zoom classes to our Zoom club meetings to our Zoom hangouts. Not leaving your computer or workstation for an entire day can be exhausting, so to avoid that, we found that it is helpful to plan our time away with little breaks between each meeting.

  3. Scheduling hikes or outdoor activities to get fresh air. Again, with everything switched to an online format, it’s important that we still get fresh air, and we have found that this can be a great way to break up our day and get away from our workstations.
