The Team that Makes it All Happen

Brooke Chang

Project Lead, 3D Printing and Mechanical Testing Team

Brooke is a 3rd-year Materials Science and Engineering major who is interested in creating sustainable engineering practices. Brooke joined the project in order to find hands-on methods to blend her passion for sustainability with her interest in materials engineering. In Fall 2020, Brooke became the Project Lead for this closed-loop recycling system, and she continues to lead the 3D Printing and Mechanical Testing Team. In her free time, Brooke enjoys spending time with her friends and family and exploring new parts of Berkeley.

Sebastian Cardenas Escoto

3D Printing and Mechanical Testing Team

Sebastian is a first-year Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major who joined the team during Fall 2020 because of his interest in making the use of PLA plastics more efficient through affordable home recycling of the material. This interest comes from his fascination with automated processes. In his free time, Sebastian enjoys playing video games with his friends and designing 3D printed solutions to everyday problems (with about a 25% success rate).

Joshua Lazovick

Granulation Team

Joshua is a 1st-year Materials Science and Engineering major who is interested in reducing material waste through developing more sustainable materials and practices. He joined the granulation team in the Fall of 2020. In his free time, Joshua enjoys spending time with friends, going on hikes, and playing board games.

June Hee Park

Granulation Team

June is a 3rd year majoring in Materials Science and Engineering who is interested in working in the sustainable and renewable energy field. She hopes to combine her interest in clean energy and materials science. In her free time, she likes to be outdoors and sunbathe at beaches.

​Paulina Salgado

Extrusion Team

Paulina is a 3rd-year Bioengineering major with an intended Material Science and Engineering minor, who is interested in working in the field of industrial biomimetics. She has been part of this research since Fall 2019, mainly working on the extrusion of the granulated 3D prints. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, working out, and living in the present moment.

Victoria Ng

Victoria is a rising junior studying Environmental Economics and Policy and Sustainable Environmental Design. Since coming to Berkeley, Victoria has had a chance to explore and expand her interest in environmental justice and sustainability. She has recently been working as a designer on the THIMBY 3.0 project with Sustainable Housing at Cal. She hopes to make meaningful contributions to solving the climate crisis and moving the environmental justice movement forward. In addition to fighting climate change, she enjoys coffee, painting, music, and yoga.
