Since most clubs, classes, and jobs on campus have transitioned to an online format, many students and faculty have found that they have much more free time than previous semesters.
For many, this free time stems from the fact that the commute time to class, club meetings, and work has been cut down to 0.
In a normal semester, most students travel to and from campus or other locations multiple times a day for all of their various commitments. Those walking, biking, and bussing times really add up.
Now that everything can be done from home, students have more free time, which can be devoted to different aspects of their lives.
For many, this time is used to study for exams or finish homework assignments. This extra time devoted to schoolwork can be beneficial, but it is also very important to remember that since traveling has been reduced to a minimum, we are not getting as much exercise as our bodies were accustomed to before.
For this reason, it is recommended to go on walks, runs, or bike rides for at least a portion of the time that would have normally been used to walk to and from events. Even a short walk can help to ensure that your body and mind stay healthy, and there can still be extra time for studying or other activities as well.
